Fic: Love at First Sight
So I went to bed around midnight last night. Turned my light on again at around 1:30. Wrote for an hour. Surfed the net for an hour. Then watched Made in Canada.
Of course, I haven't been able to write anything all day today, which is a problem since I'm supposed to be writing essays today.
On the plus side, I wrote for both HP and PotC. I promise a HP drabble (or drabble-ish) in the next day or two. Today you get this Jack piece.

Title: Love at First Sight
Word Count: 250
It was love at first sight.
Jack hadn’t believed in love before. Love was something for fools drowning in their cups. But no matter how much rum Jack consumed (and he could consume a fair bit, provided there was a fair bit there for him to consume), Jack couldn’t see why the old salts would sigh about the one that got away or the one they’d won over. While Jack spent his fair share of time in brothels, he was never fool enough to think there was something more to it. But all that changed the first time he saw her.
She was beautiful.
There was no getting around that. Probably the most beautiful creature he’d ever seen, and he’d seen a good number of creatures and a good number of beauties in his time, from painted doxies to painted queens and just about everything in between.
But she was different, a real beauty, one who needed no painting to look her best. Jack knew that it was more than just the sparkle that caused him to feel this way about her. The love he felt went deeper than mere appearances; their connection was something more. It was real. She meant something to him, something more than the mere flirtation of doxies, much more than those flirtations could ever mean.
Aye, from the very first moment Jack Sparrow laid eyes on The Black Pearl, he knew that he wouldn’t rest until he’d won her.
It was love at first sight.
