hp100 challenge: late. I don't know why I decided to write Lily/Sirius.
Lily reluctantly broke the kiss. “It’s late. We should head back.”
Sirius nodded. “Someone might notice. If my family--"
Lily cut him off. “Your family. It’s always about them. Sometimes I wonder if that’s why we’re dating, because they’d hate it.”
“You know that’s not true.”
“Do I? We can’t get through one night without you mentioning them.”
“That’s because--"
“It doesn’t matter why, just that it happens! And unless it stops, we’re through. I’m sorry, Sirius. I just can’t do this. Not anymore.”
Sirius watched Lily leave, wondering why his family ruined everything, even those things they didn’t touch.
