AnaMaria wasn't sure how Jack Sparrow talked her into this, but that was nothing new. She wasn't sure how he talked her into any of the things she found herself going along with.

It was bad enough that people assumed she was weak because she was a woman, but to actively pretend to be a victim.... At least the payoff was worth it—both the satisfaction of proving just how great their folly was, and the actual swag.

Still, it could be worse; the original plan had called for Jack to be the damsel in distress, frilly dress and all.

Barbossa wondered when his relationship with Jack had degenerated from that of bitter rivals to cartoon-like foes. Once they had truly tried to kill each other; now it was only a never-ending battle to get the better of the other. He supposed it had something to do with the fact that neither could die.

But there were worse ways to spend eternity.

And it always did brighten his decade, finding a way to steal something of Jack’s from right under his nose.

It wasn’t until he was safely back on his ship before he realized the bag was suspiciously light.
