Title: The Bet
Fandom: Dark Angel
Pairing: Original Cindy/OFCs, Alec/OFCs
Word Count: 5 x 100
Written for:
jam_pony_fic's drabble ficathon. For
amathela's prompt, The gang hanging out at crash or downtime at Jam Pony; some humour would be great (Max/Alec, gen or any femslash)
Special thanks to:
shyaway for looking this over for me.
Max is pretty disgusted with the whole idea, which Alec thinks is totally unfair. Not the disgust—it's Max, it's to be expected—but the fact that while she's disgusted with him, she's vocally cheering for Original Cindy. But Alec rolls with it, continuing to turn his considerable charm towards flirting with the girls at Crash and working around the decided disadvantage he has compared to the competition.
After all, he only has two weeks to hook up with more girls than OC. He can't waste time worrying about Max.
This is one bet he has no intention of losing.

Cara always thought that lesbians had some sort of special kissing power, but the only difference was the second set of boobs pressed against her own.
The brush of knuckle against her breast, that was new. So light it might seem accidental, if not for the look in OC's eyes. It's nothing like the groping Tom always resorted to.
She wondered if she should feel guilty. Tom broke up with her, so he couldn't blame her for hooking up with someone else, even if she wanted to get back together.
Besides, if it's another girl it doesn't count as cheating.

"It's a bet," Max explained to Sorine once Alec left to get drinks. She couldn't hold her tongue any longer. Alec's tomcatting had led to trouble at Jam Pony; she didn't want a repeat at Crash.
"Hmm." Sorine looked entirely too pleased, a far cry from the screaming harpy Max was used to Alec dating. "A guaranteed fuck, no strings attached? That makes my life easier."
Max must have looked bewildered, for Sorine explained.
"Don't you ever just have that... need for sex? Alec is good for that. Trust me—next time you're in the mood, give him a shout."
~*~
By now, many Crash regulars knew about the bet, so Alec wasn't surprised when Cammie sidled up to him with her best come-hither smile. He wasn't expecting her request, though.
"Cindy? I'm not setting you two up."
Another time, he probably would. He was too magnanimous to deny his friends sex just because he wasn't getting any. But he refused to help with OC's growing tally.
"No, you don't understand. Both of you, together."
As he let that image fill his mind, Alec decided that it was times like this when he wished Original Cindy was a little more straight.
~*~
In the end there was no winner, but that was only because the others refused to count Alec's threesome with Andra and Jill as two girls. Okay, so it didn't help that neither girl was talking to him anymore, completely refusing to acknowledge the night.
But still, it hurt Alec that his friends would think he would lie about this. What would be the point? The numbers were secondary to the fact that he got to have sex.
Besides, if they were going to start doubting, then Original Cindy had better explain Birdy, who always swore to be exclusively heterosexual.
